Compilation Voting In Progress!

The PDX Pop Now! Annual Compilation has been serving as a snapshot of the current and up and coming Portland music since 2004.

We will be releasing our 10th annual PDX Pop Now! Compilation this June to a larger audience than ever before. As national recognition for Portland music increases, we feel that it is our responsibility to represent our city in the best way possible.

2013 will mark the year of our first ever Digital Compilation to be sold online. We will still be producing our traditional, locally designed and manufactured CD compilations, and distributing them at our festival and events, as well as to local record stores. Physical copies will also be available in select record stores in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Philadelphia, and New York, and distributed to over 300 college radio stations in the United States and Canada.

Join us in celebrating our 10th birthday, and help us represent our wonderful city!

Thank you for helping us reach our goal of $10K for 10 years!

09:09AM on Wednesday October 17, 2012

In celebration of PDX Pop Now!‘s 10th anniversary, we set out a goal to raise $10,000 through Willamette Week’s annual Give!Guide campaign. This was a hefty task we set before ourselves, but with your help, as well as a $4000 matching donation from Biamp Systems, we met the $10K mark on December 17. At the end of the campaign on December 31, with a final total of $13,612.12 raised by 167 donors, our third Give!Guide campaign was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who donated—your contribution will allow us to make the 10th summer festival bigger and better than ever.

Stay tuned for information about how to collect your incentives!

PDX Pop Now! Presents: The Portland Streetcar Mobile Musicfest Friday, October 5th, 2012 6-10PM!

01:13PM on Wednesday September 26, 2012

Featuring Performances From: Sun Angle / Classical Revolution PDX / Dana Buoy / Jeffrey Jerusalem / Edna Vasquez / Cloudy October / Sassparilla / New Pioneers / Ocean Floor / Charts / MC Rose / Josh & Mer / Vikesh Kapoor / What Hearts / Au Dunes / Beisbol

The second annual Streetcar Mobile Musicfest is coming up here very soon, with 16 local bands, “Streetcar Specials” from participating local businesses, and a free after party at Union/Pine!

Hosted by New Rail-Volutionaries PDX, Women’s Transportation Seminar, PDX Pop Now!, and Portland Streetcar, Inc., the Streetcar Mobile Musicfest is the singular Portland festival celebrating the beneficial role public transportation plays in uniting both the people who live here and the local businesses that make each neighborhood so culturally diverse.

Welcoming the Portland streetcar to the Central Eastside, the Streetcar Mobile Musicfest will take place between the Rose Quarter/Left Bank stop and OMSI, with each band boarding at the Rose Quarter and performing for one complete trip (60 minutes) with layover performances at OMSI—including historian/storyteller Rick Huddle who will share stories about the history of the neighborhood.

The festival is free to the public with a streetcar ticket and coincides with the district’s First Friday Art Walk, making for an eventful evening both on and off the streetcar!

Following the event, the celebration will continue from 9-12PM at the free, all-ages after party hosted by Union/Pine (525 SE Pine), featuring sets from Sun Angle and Dana Buoy to close out the night!
